Mulled wine is one of those things that feels inherently festive, isn't it – when else in the year do you have it?
The smell of cinnamon and cloves wafting through a cold evening.
The warmth of the mug in your hands.
The ritual of it all transports you to a magical place.
For low/no drinkers, this one is a secret easy mode.
Why? Because it's not the wine you're craving; it's the spice. The warmth. The cosy, Christmassy feeling that comes from holding something hot and fragrant while the world goes dark at 3.17pm.
